Florence Euphemia Morgan was born December 6, 1925, in Bassa, Liberia the daughter Edwin A. Morgan (Senator) and Sarah E. (Woods) Morgan. She graduated from the College of West Africa in 1942 with an undergraduate degree majoring in education. She was the matriarch of her families, a role she carried throughout her lifetime not only with her siblings, but also into marriage as she and her husband, Allen raised a family. In Liberia, she was an outstanding business woman. Her passion for business was equaled only by her strong personal faith. While in Liberia she played an active role in the Episcopal Church, she was leader on the health Ministries team, and led many outreach services for those in need; this was the foundation of a lifelong passion and faith. Upon moving to the United States in 1984 she continued her faith journey through missionary work and the Church.
She is survived by her children, Mettie Thomopulos (Gregs) of Iowa City; Sarah McLaurin (Eddie) of Indianapolis, IN; Allen Williams Jr. (Christine) of Liberia; and Dr. Christine Moore (Robert) of the United Kingdom; grandchildren, Nicole Berry, Euphemia Thomopulos, Allen Williams Jr., Henrique Williams, Kimberly Calhoun, Joyce Moore, Thomas Moore and Amber Moore; great-grandchildren, Ashley Berry, Zola Hausler, Alec McLaurin, Aiden Williams, Theo Williams, and Kimani Calhoun; brothers Edwin Morgan (Augusta), Roland Morgan (Marion), and Edwin A Morgan; and many nephews and nieces in Liberia and the United States.
