Obituary of Charles T. Felling

Charles T. “Tom” Felling 62, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Iowa City died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He had, been in the hospital for 6 days and the very fine medical staff simply ran out of treatment options. His death was caused by gradual, over years, worsening physical/physiological complications of his cerebral palsy. He died in palliative care-comfortable, with his parents at his side. His care team from his REM group home in Washington came to the hospital to be with him at his death. Tom was born in St. Joseph, MO in 1954. He was a good man. He did a lot with what he was given, had many fans and friends, and was gentle and kind, similar to other good people. His family includes his parents, Charles and Margaret Felling and Shirley Yurkonis; siblings, Christopher, Martin, Jonathan, Timothy, John McCown and Anne Hussey. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 22, 2017, at North Prairie Cemetery in West Liberty.
