Obituary of Jimmy L. Becicka

Jimmy L. “Jim” Becicka, 74, longtime Oxford area farmer, died suddenly, Saturday, January 28, 2017, while on a fishing trip in Minnesota with his friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, February 3, 2017, at the St. Mary’s Auditorium in Oxford, with burial to follow at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at the Auditorium. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jim’s memory. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Jimmy L. Becicka was born January 1, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Louis and Stella (Pospishil Becicka. Following graduation from Oxford High School with the class of 1961 he entered the Army Reserves, later being activated. Jim has spent his lifetime farming, it’s in his blood and his way of life. For a number of years he also worked for Rockwell Collins. He was a proud member of the NRA, loved hunting and fishing, and the only thing better that this was to do it with his family and friends! His family includes his son, Steve (Jessi Williams); grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon, Kameron, Alison, Lincoln, Quintin, Kyla and Dylan; great-grandson, Kasen; brother, Leo Becicka (Jackie); sister, Marlene Pegump; daughter-in-law, Denise Becicka; Nieces and nephews, Danette, Corey, Maryann, Victoria, Mike, and Angie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jim E. “Little Jim” Becicka; and niece, Tammy Harney.
