Dear family of Jaro,
I knew your husband and father as Skeeter and served with him on the Salerno Bay. I am sorry to learn of his death. The pictures posted on this site are a wonderful tribute to him. I am in the picture with your husband in the airplane.

Please accept my sympathies on Jaro Lepics passing. I am one of the Flynn kids from Riverside.(the only boy). I read Jaros obituary in the Press Citizen. It sounds like he had a good life. We are losing the "greatest generation" quickly but they deserve thier peace. Please accept condolences from the William Kanak Family. I saw the obituary in the Des Moines Register this morning and remembered the many times during his lifetime that my father, Bill Kanak, told stories about the Goosetown gang,
playing in the cemetary and the City High Class of 42. Those stories always included Jaro Lepic.

Greetings and condolences to the Lepic family.
I grew up across the street from the Lepics. There were no finer neighbors anywhere. Jaro and Reta would go to any length to help and share with their neighbors. These attributes were passed on to their three sons who brought well deserved pride to their parents and Iowa City. Tom was a character and a great friend in high school and college. We never seemed to get into serious trouble despite our efforts to do so. Ted was my boss at Scotty's drive-in. Steve was always too busy at work to notice us little guys. Jaro and Reta were always available for a kind word or a helping hand. How lucky we were to live across the street. Best wishes to the Lepic family, heaven has gained where we have lost.
