Julie Ellen Evans was born February 25, 1961, oldest of four children born to Gene and June (Wray) Evans. Growing up in Coralville she attended schools in the Iowa City Community School district graduating from West High School with the Class of 1979. She remained in this area raising her two sons and working at the Coralville Lantern Park HyVee. A career that started in 1996 until her retirement in 2023, where for many years she was the catering manager. She loved her work, taking pride in all that she did and enjoying the many customers she met along the way. For Julie it was not about her, it was taking care of the customers, her friends and of course her family. She liked to do scrapbooking, read a good book, just got into gardening, enjoyed traveling especially with her sisters and mom, always finding the beach. But nothing brought a bigger smile to her beautiful face more than her family, especially her grandchildren!
Her family includes her mother, June Evans; sons, Nicholas Jones (Kathy) and Randall Jones; grandchildren, Devon, Aydin, Lilian, Brantley, Orion, Berkley, Vivian and Ellie; great-granddaughter, Oaklee; sisters, Jean Dickey (Jim) and Jeri Kinney (Brian); and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene, brother, Rick; and former husband, Randy Jones.
