So sorry to hear about Dennis. He was right there to help me when I took my car in to have the oil changed. Always looked for Dennis. We will miss his smile and a person who was always ready to help;
Darn it. Dennis has left us and has gone ahead. We shall miss him. He sure was an interesting guy! Dennis was always ready to help with the Coralville/Iowa City and Area Color Guards ANYTIME. Our condolences to his Family.

My heart goes out to all family and friends of Dennis's. He was always one of many great smiles to welcome you into the Legion there in Oxford.
John 16:20
Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.
Mourning, though it be a difficult time, will surely pass. And though all sadness will eventually be overshadowed by happiness and laughter, feelings of loss will still linger in your hearts. My hope for you all is that you will let all of your best memories of the good times, love and laughter with Dennis allow you to celebrate his life even in death. Those who are faithful have faith and find comfort in knowing that Dennis is smiling down upon you all from where we all want to be. He just got there a little sooner so that he will be one of the many great smiles to welcome you home. Much love to all and God bless-
Heather Hohenshell and Family.
So very sorry to hear of the passing of Dennis. I will miss my birthday buddy and his always reminding me I was a year older! My condolences to his family.
I can't remember a time that Dennis wasn't available for an event with the Legion Honor Guard. He was always there to help with any projects going on at the Post, there working at each monthly breakfast through out the season. And yes, the Post "Historian" when it came to talking about the "artifacts" on display in the front hall at the Legion. As a Brother in Arms, a Brother Legionnaire, as a friend, you will be missed and Thank you for your service.
Fair Winds and Following Seas Brother, May you Rest In Peace.
William (Bill) Butterbaugh Commander Post 537 Oxford
Ever so sad to hear that Dennis has passed from this world. He will be greatly missed! I have many fond memories of who I affectionately knew as "Red Green"♥️ The Oxford Legion will never be the same!
Sorry to hear of Dennis's passing. He and I worked together at Clipper Windpower for a few years and loved to joke around with each other. More recently, we enjoyed our interactions at local parades and around Oxford. May his memory be a blessing.

We remember Dennis very well when he participated in the Honor Guard in the funerals , the other Honor Guard duties of the Oxford American Legions. He always had a smile and a kind word when we met. We offer our heartfelt symphonies to his family, especially His mother Helen Crow. Daryl & Cheryl Reynolds of Cosgrove.
