
Obituary of Dameka Bryant
Dameka confessed to Christ at an early age.
Dameka attended George Westinghouse High School. Later, going on to work for Ssi Security at The Ohare International Airport shortly after. In 2004, Dameka would give birth to what she called (Her miracle baby) Bernice Keita. In 2005, Dameka relocated to Iowa City, Iowa. She held multiple custodial jobs at The Hyatt Place and The Graduate Hotel. Dameka would later be employed Jimmy Johns, where she really enjoyed being able to meet new people.
Dameka was affectionately known as Meka by all who knew and loved her. Meka and music went hand in hand. She really loved dancing, rapping, and spending time with her family, of which she held near and dear to her heart.
On March 29, 2025, the Lord knocked at her door, and she answered his call.
Dameka was preceded in death by her parents; Grandparents Robert and Georgia Mae Bryant and Jessie Sr. And Vera Knight, four Uncles; James Earl Knight, Jessie Knight Jr., Willie Burns and Nathaniel Bryant, four Aunts; Syble and Martha Bryant, Eloise Knight-Wright and Annie Mae Knight- Stuckey
Dameka leaves to cherish her only child Bernice Lashonda Keita, fiancé Shannon Gittings, Grandmother Evangelist Fannie Carr, three sisters; Shiwannia Knight, Kizzy Bryant, and Vera Lee (Daouda) Keita, one Brother; Floyd Knight Jr., four nieces; Tyshika, Sokona, Nyeima, and Essie; five nephews; Dondrell, Cheickne, Gianni, Amari and Greyson; Sixteen Aunts; Shirley, Mary and Susie all of Iowa, Earlean, Merrie, Denise(David), Shirley, Tammy, Mamie, Helen, Sideria, Lucille, Bertha, Lillie, Willie, Billie(Tommie), and Caroline; Six Uncles; Owen and Billie Joe Knight, Ray, Robert, Richard and Willie. Meka also leaves to cherish one special Brother Eric Parker and five Sister/Cousins: Tori, Nechie, Landa, Tasha, and Key.
