Obituary of Roger Keith O'Brien Sr.

Roger K. O’Brien, Sr. age 81, of Riverside, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Per his request, no formal services held.  Memorials may be directed to the Family of Roger O’Brien.

Born on September 6, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa, Roger was the son of John and Agnes (Gilpin) O’Brien.  He attended school in West Branch.  Roger worked with his dad on the farm.  He also worked as a mechanic.  He worked for Schnoebelen’s Repair in Riverside before working on large equipment for LL Pelling Company, where he retired in 2017.

Roger enjoyed camping and fishing.  He and Rose loved Country Dancing.  They would go dancing seven nights a week.

Roger’s family includes his wife, Rose; sons, Timothy (Michelle) O’Brien of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and Kevin (Heather) O’Brien of Fort Dodge; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hahn; two grandchildren, Christopher (Jessie) O’Brien and Jackson O’Brien; and six great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Roger O’Brien, Jr.
