Hazel Marie Reeve, age 97, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and devoted community member, passed away on April 25, 2025 at the Solon Care Center.

Born on June 20, 1927 on the Immel Family Farm near Oxford, Hazel was the daughter of Walter K. and Velva M. (Edwards) Immel. She gradated from Oxford High School. Hazel married George R. Reeve on January 4, 1948 and together they built a life grounded in faith, family and service.
Hazel was a member of First Global Methodist Church in Tiffin and was a dedicated 4-H leader for many years with Jenny Wrens, where she mentored and encouraged young people in her community. She was also involved in the Johnson County Cattlemen and Cattlewomen, taking great pride in promoting beef at the Johnson County Fair.
Hazel cherished her time on the farm and found joy in the everyday moments-cooking for her loved ones, sewing with care, collecting antiques and gathering with dear friends for lunch with the “Tiffin Ladies”. She also worked many elections for Clear Creek and Johnson County, supporting her community though civic involvement.
Above all, Hazel loved her family. She delighted in watching her grandchildren’s activities and treasured both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their company and pride in their achievements.
Hazel’s family includes her son, Mel Reeve of Iowa City; and daughters, Faye (Greg) Tucker of West Branch and Kay (Doug) McGuire of Wayland. She leaves behind a legacy of love through six grandchildren: Matthew McGuire, Michael (Krista) Tucker, Monica (Jarod) Tylee, Monte McGuire, Elizabeth (Martin) Roper, and Jamie Tucker; and eleven great-grandchildren: Mika and Coy McGuire, Kendall, Zachary, and Carson Tucker, Addyson, Hayden and Tucker Tylee, and Rylee, Brooklyn, and Mason Roper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George (1996); a daughter, Marcia (2006); a granddaughter, Nicole Tucker (1983); and a brother, Ellsworth.
Hazel’s life was a testament to kindness, hard work, and the enduring strength of family and community. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
