Obituary of Roy L. Berg III

Roy L. Berg III “Lenny”, age 64 formerly of Oxford died Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown.  He had been a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home for the past few years.

A time celebrating Lenny’s life will be held from 5 to 7pm, Wednesday, June 4^th. at the Oxford American Legion. 

Roy L. Berg III was born February 4, 1961, in Iowa City, the son of Roy L. Berg II and Marilyn J. (Young) Berg.  Following high school Lenny enlisted in the United States Marines.  Returning to this area, he found his way working at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Central Sterilization for many years.  Lenny enjoyed the simple things in life, the outdoors, fishing attending races, reading (especially Stephen King) watching Grit TV (westerns his favorite) and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Since moving to the Veterans Home in Marshalltown, he really liked being in the thick of everyone, Mr. Social he was!

His family includes his son, Tim; grandchildren,Zekharyah, Amelia and Serenity; siblings, Earl Berg (Amy) and Tina Kilburg (Lynn); a number of nieces and nephews.

He was welcomed home by his daughter, Serena; parents Roy and Marilyn; and brother, Carl Berg.
