Obituary of Phoenix Farrell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phoenix Farrell, age 20, of North Liberty. Phoenix was a beloved son, brother, friend, and soul whose presence lit up every room he entered.

Phoenix was born on June 5, 2005, in Cedar Rapids to Rachel Farrell. Phoenix grew up with a deep love for the outdoors. He found peace and purpose in nature—whether he was hunting, fishing, playing a round of golf, or walking along the shore at the beach. Phoenix was a true entrepreneur, always starting a new business and loved working with his hands. His adventurous spirit, easy laugh, and kind heart made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him.

He is lovingly remembered and survived by his mom, Rachel Farrell; siblings Ashley Farrell Vasquez, Rey Vasquez, Nick Parsons, Kelsey Parsons, Lexi Casciello, John Casciello, and Paige Peacock; uncle Eddie Stanton; and cherished by nieces, nephews, and cousins Macey Farrell, Madaxx Vasquez, Niko Vasquez, and Aspen Parsons, as well as many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on June 13, 2025, from 4-7 PM at Gay and Ciha Funeral Home in Iowa City, IA. Phoenix will forever be remembered for his big blue eyes and dimples.
