Obituary of Katie Lee Mosby Perry

Katie Lee Perry was born on November 3, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts to Rowena Washington & Emmet Mosby who both preceded her in death.  Katie moved to Chicago in 1949 where she attended DuSable High School & graduated with her Diploma.  Katie went on to pursue her college degree in Nursing.

Katie worked at California Gardens for over 25 years as a CAN where she met the love of her life, Raymond Perry.  They married into their union on June 19, 1992.  He also precedes her in death.  Katie confessed herself to Christ at an early age.  She was a devoted Wife, Mother & Grandmother.  Katie loved her family & cherished her grandchildren so much that she adopted 13 of them.  Katie committed every birth date to memory and could recite them verbatim.  Katie was a great cook!  She cooked meals that made the holidays special and created a place that everyone loved to visit.  Katie fed many & opened her home to friends, family & guests.  In her spare time she played spades & listened to dusties.  Katie kept in touch with everyone & was the glue that kept her family together.  She taught the importance of respecting God, being honest and loving towards others & the pride of the family name.

On September 13, 2025, Our Loving Katie was called home to receive her wings.  Katie leaves to cherish her loving memory: her four Children, Keith, Kandace & Keisha who also preceded her in death & Kendrick.  Her sister Beverly who also preceded her in death.  Her two grandchildren Kaytie & Donta who also preceded her in death.  Thirty grandchildren, fifty nine great-grandchildren  & ten great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews & friends.
