Max Joseph Neppel

Condolences
Max was witty, clever, funny and - most of all - a good friend to us when we were fortunate enough to live in the same area. Much sympathy to LaVaughn and all of Max's family. May happy memories bring you peace.
We have so enjoyed getting to know Max and LaVaughn as neighbors in Tiffin. Our hearts go out to Max’s family.
Vaughn and family,
Heavy hearts from the Moore family, thoughts and prayers are with you all.
No question Max made an impact on my family’s lives. My father, Danny and Max were each other’s best men in their weddings and forever buddies. My last memory of the two of them was playing euchre at Hilltop with crew.
Max also would bring his father’s Medal of Honor to my 5th grade classroom on Veteran’s Day and he (the “fox”) would chase me (the “rabbit “) around our yard and catch me every time.
Special man and one of a kind.
I have so many wonderful memories of times together while we were in school at St Eds and Columbus in Waterloo. He was a dear friend whose memory will live on. Rest in peace my friend.
One of my memories of Max was visiting him and ‘Vaughn in the Netherlands during his last overseas stint. He helped me send a few boxes back to the US and we hung out for a couple days and he had some good advice. My condolences to My cousins there in losing a good brother…
My memory of Max is as a child growing up when his family and ours would go camping. Max was always up for an adventure, catching frogs or fishing it seemed like we were always wet. We climbed huge trees that I would have never dared to try on my own! Even as a kid Max had a contagious laugh and over 60 years later it still brings a smile to my face. Rest in peace my friend.
Tragic and untimely loss of a beloved cousin. An officer and a gentleman throughout life. We shall miss his presence.
Neppel family sorry for your loss. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. Keep all the good memories in your hearts forever. Always enjoyed talking to Max when we would run into each other. Never met a nicer family. God Bless you all.
Neppel family, I am very sorry for your loss of Max.
