Dan and I became very close in only 4 years, the first day Dan and Nancy moved in across the street from Joyce and I (Ron). I met Dan in the street and just started talking and getting to know him. The more we talked, we discovered that we were both farm kids and that we had a lot in common, and I found out that Dan had half a lung and that cancer was a problem. In fact he thought he was going to die very soon. And right there we prayed and, well ,the Lord gave him 4 more years. I am so thankful that Dan and i became best friends. We went fishing, did short trips around Iowa City and of course West Branch where he grew up. Also
, Dan and Nancy started to come to Life Church and got involved in Men's breakfast and men's life group. Rich and precious were those times for a wonderful bond happened and everyone that met Dan was considered a friend. Praise the Lord for the good work of the Holy Spirit in Dan's life. He just shined and was grandpa to many kids in the neighborhood. Joyce and I would talk to Dan every morning and what a great time to wish each other a wonderful day. Also, many times were spent in prayer and asking God for His wisdom and leading us daily. We will miss Dan and his precious words, praise the Lord. Thank you, Lord, for this special time in our lives and we know this: that because Dan knew Jesus personally and had accepted him in his life, Dan is with Jesus right now. Glory to the king of kings and thank you Lord for Dan. Praise God! We love Dan and Nancy. Ron and Joyce Maxwell
