I lived down the street from Carolyn for 24 years. I so enjoyed our conversations about her memories of the neighborhood and gardening advice. She was never too busy to stop her gardening and visit.
Her and Anna's monster cookies were the hit of Halloween. Wonderful neighbors.
Anna, I am very sorry for your loss.

Dear Anna & family. So very sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. I will always remember Carolyn as such a wonderful & kind person. She will be missed by many & not forgotten. Peace be with you, Don Johnson.
I lived near Carolyn and her family, and she, along with her sister and brother, were part of the neighborhood gang that played softball on what was known as Stoddart’s lot, now occupied by a couple of houses, I believe. When in Iowa City, I always stopped by the drug store on Melrose Avenue. Great memories from long ago. I am glad to hear Anna is still with us.
Carolyn and her brother, Art, were regular visitors to our family's drug store. I remember her as very sweet, quite lovely, with a gift at finding whatever I had to say, from childhood to adulthood, interesting. We lived in the same neighborhood and I often saw her outside working in her garden, though I don't think she ever considered it work. I remember getting a private "tour" before the Project Green showing. She was a gracious lady and I am so glad our lives crossed paths.
Carolyn gave so much to so many. She was kind. Welcoming. Compassionate. I am blessed to have known her. Mary Jedlicka Humston
Carolyn was one of my favorite people - very witty, kind, and generous - an absolute gem. I will miss her.
I’m going to miss Carolyn’s quick wit, and her friendship. Heaven just got a little sweeter.
