Obituary of Eric L. Dade

Eric Dade, age 61, of Iowa City died Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Eric grew up in Canton Missouri. He graduated from Canton high school the year of 1982. Eric was one of the schools marching band saxophone players and continued to play at Culver Stockton college in Canton, Missouri before moving to California where he became employed at FedEx for a limited of time. Eric later in life decided once again to relocate to Iowa city, Iowa where he found employment at lint united van line from March 6, 2002, to April 27, 2020. Eighteen years Eric dedicated himself to helping clients, family and friends settle in their new homes. Eric loved this career; he was able to make many connections local and across many states until his health demanded more attention.

Eric became a member of New Creations International Church in 2006. ready to serve and spread his hospitality wherever needed. Eric served as an usher, our dedicated gatekeeper, greeting everyone with a smile. He was of the men of valor and head of the van ministry for many years. He loved picking up the members playing his music getting them ready for praise and worship.

Eric is survived by his only son, Corbin Dade, of Las Vegas; his brothers, Walter Dade Jr. of Keokuk, Iowa; Donald (Julie) Dade of Hamilton, Illinois, and Bruce (Teresa) Dade of Wisconsin. His sisters Joan (Floyd) Jackson of Park City, Illinois, Barbara Jean Tate of Burlington, Iowa, and nieces, Dawn Dade, Hope Dade, Jaime Dade, Delesia Dade, Vicky Tate and Selena Osborne; nephews, Walter (junior) Dade, Darron (Kellie Frey) Douglas, Nigel Jackson, Floyd Jackson, Devon Dade, Delmar Dade, and Brandon Dade, god family; Daryl & Phyllis dean, Clinton, Daniel, Bryson, Annthea Dean. His spiritual family at New Creations International Church, a spiritual sister, Margaret Windham, special spiritual friend Stefanie Nichols and bonus spiritual son Chico Williams and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Janice Dade,  great nephew; Adian Dade, a niece; Dawn Tate, and a sister-in-law; Flossie Dade.
