Richard was born October 14, 1946, in Iowa City, the son of John and Loretta (Wieser) Miller.  Growing up on the family farm south of Solon, Richard attended Solon schools graduating from Solon High School with the Class of 1965. Richard was united in marriage to Judith Ann English on June 9, 1973.  Not only has he farmed all his life, he also worked as an auctioneer for a time.  Richard simply loved God’s outdoors, he couldn’t be out there enough!  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his annual “Minnesota Deer River Fishing Trip” that he wouldn’t miss and the stories and memories will live on.  Richard was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Solon American Legion, but nothing, but nothing was more important than his family, especially as the grandchildren came along and then his great-granddaughter, wow!

His family includes his wife, Judy; sons, Reverend Christopher Miller, and Terry  Miller and his wife, Rhonda; daughter, Jodi Palmer and her husband, Adam; five grandchildren, Cole Miller and his wife, Morgan, Brooke Miller, Autumn Miller, Kelsey Palmer and Landon Palmer; Great-granddaughter, Hadley Miller..

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, very special cousin, Gary Weiser, who was like a brother to Richard.
