Obituary of Brooke Dixon

Brooke L. Dixon, age 47 of Iowa City passed in Iowa City surrounded by her family Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Services celebrating Brooke’s life will be held at 3pm Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City where there will be a time of visitation from 1:30 pm until services and also following services with a reception at the funeral home. 

Brooke Lucille Dixon was born November 17, 1978, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Freddie A. and Cheryl S. (Elwood) Dixon.   Her family moved to Iowa City where Brooke attended schools, beginning with Grant Wood Elementary, SouthEast Junior  High, and graduating from City High School with the Class of 1997.  Following this she attended and graduated from Kirkwood Community College.  For many years she worked as a logistics specialist in the transportation industry, most recently for CH Robinson Trucking. She blessed many with her living not only in Iowa City, but Kansas City, Atlanta, and Norwalk, Iowa.

Brooke lived her life to the fullest, she was high energy for anything that was Kansas City, The Chiefs, The Royals, The Diamonds! She enjoyed shopping, in fact she made sure that she had her Christmas shopping done for this year, special presents for sure for her family and friends.  Brooke was tight with her family and friends, the ”Magnificent Seven” was a bonding of Brooke and six longtime friends that couldn’t be broken not even with this horrible disease!  And her family, no matter where Brooke was, her family was always there, maybe in person, online, her phone but always in spirit as Brooke was to them. Even in her last days, she wasn’t concerned about herself, it was everyone else.  A kind soul who was loved by so many!

Her family includes her father, Fred; siblings, April Masonbrink (Mark), Freddie Dixon Jr.(Paula), Bridget Abalos, Bryan Dixon (Buffi); very special nieces and nephews, Samantha Wilson, Ryan Kite, Sarah Masonnbrink, Brittney Dixon, Nichole Anderson, Blake Cherry, Amber Densmore, Heather Pyron, Autumn Brown, Salvatore Infinito, Vanessa McMaster, Frank Abalos Jr., Justian Dixon, Noah Abalos, Mallory McKewon, Riley Dixon, Ellie Grace Dixon and MariAnna Dixon.

Brooke was preceded in death by her Mom, Cheryl Susann Dixon.
