Obituary of Rodney Schleeter

Rodney L. Schleeter, age 55 or North Liberty died Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Rodney was born August 5, 1970 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Leslie and Carol  (Herzmann) Schleeter.  Growing up in Moline he attended schools there graduating from East Moline High School. He came to the Iowa City area many years ago, here he met the love of his life, Vincent K. Cook.  The couple would be as a couple for many years before officially being married on October 10, 2010, over 30 years of this beautiful friendship.

Rodney worked for ACT for many years. He loved the outdoors, raising plants and gardens, supporting all walks of the animal kingdom that would cross his path.  Basically he loved anything that was living, especially his two dogs, Sonner and Rex.  Was known to have an ear for good music, but also was totally at peace with the quiet of solitude.

His family includes siblings, Berniece Helms, Sandy Perez, Clyde Lessard (Carla), Elaine Caldwell, Cindy Dooley (Mike), Tina Michael, Anita Nichols (Kenny),Chris Lessarad and Katrina Schleeter; brother-in-law, Tim Cook; sister-in-law, Jean Kincaid (Walter); numerous nieces and nephews.
