Obituary of Steven Douglas Jackman

Steven Douglas Jackman, 56, of Middle Amana Iowa, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City after a long battle with several medical issues.

Steven was born June 25, 1969, in Pontiac Michigan. In 1987 Steven enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served for 10 years. He enjoyed woodworking, setting up Smart home equipment and gaming with his sons. Steven had the biggest heart often letting those who were down on their luck stay with him as long as they needed. He was an avid movie buff of all kinds especially the off beat comedy ones like Princess Bride “As You Wish” and was a huge Spider-Man fan, sporting many tattoos! Another love of Steven’s was food, he and his sons spent lots of time frequenting his favorite places and trying to duplicate recipes at home. His laughter and goofy sense of humor will truly be missed.

Survivors include his 3 adored sons, Christopher Steven Jackman, Kirk Andrew (Kat) Jackman, and Ryan-Michael Jackman; his brothers, Chuck (Tina) Stafford of Virginia and Mike (Jessie) Stafford of Cedar Rapids IA; sister, Suzy (Denis) Graller of Traer IA; a niece, Andrea; 4 nephews, James, Justin, Zac and Bryson; best friends, Trina, Melaney and Michelle of Sioux City, IA, and his life long friend "Murphy"(Don) Steggall and their boys Brandon, Braydon and Brody of Middle Amana IA.

Steven was preceded in death by his adopted parents Dick and Cathy Jackman. Steven will be laid to rest in Rock Island National Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be planned in the beginning of June.
