Obituary of Philip Garrett Reynolds

Philip G. Reynolds, age 45 of Dubuque, Iowa died Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Philip Garrett Reynolds was born October 29th, 1980, in Peoria, Illinois. The son of Philip and Marsha (Shipley) Reynolds.  Growing up in Peoria, he attended schools there graduating from Woodruff High School in 1998.  He then went on to receive his welding certificate to eventually work for John Deere Dubuque.

Philip married the love of his life, Kyla Jean Phillips on August 31, 2002, in Dubuque.  To this union, two wonderful children were born, Gage and Delainey.  Their children were the absolute joy in his life. He loved being a husband and dad so much! Philip enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and yelling at the TV every Sunday no matter their record for the season. He loved the peaceful time he had when fishing with the kids and always invited others along. He also loved sitting by a campfire with a Budweiser, grilling out and smoking up some food as much as possible. Tinkering with cars was also never out of the question! Phil looked forward to Friday night date nights with Kyla and nighttime drives for ice cream and sightseeing! Don’t even forget his bottle of Mountain Dew!

He is survived by his wife, Kyla; their children, Gage Reynolds and Delainey Reynolds; his parents, Philip and Marsha Reynolds; his brother, Cyle Slock; a couple aunts and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother and father in law.
