Obituary of David Seemuth

David C. Seemuth, age 65, of Iowa City, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Briarwood Healthcare Center.

Born on April 20, 1960, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, David was the son of William and Katy (Burke) Seemuth.  He graduated from Regina High School in 1978.

David was united in marriage to Becky Favourite on May 12, 1991, in Las Vegas.  He worked at the University of Iowa and later retired from Shakespear’s in 2022.  David enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Softtail Custom.

His family includes his wife, Becky; stepdaughters: Mary (Chris) Hagensick and Amanda (Drew) Miller; grandchildren: Madison Hagensick and Mariska Hagensick; and siblings: Mike, Tim, Dan, Kathy, and Mary Ann. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Pat.
