Obituary of Joseph Dean Stackhouse

Joseph D. “Joe” Stackhouse, age 53, of Lone Tree died Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Joseph Dean Stackhouse was born August 20, 1972, in Abington, Pennsylvania, the son of A. Joseph and Charlene D. (Stumpf) Stackhouse.  The family moved to the Iowa City area in 1994.  Here Joe worked a number of jobs, but mostly in the transportation industry.  Joe enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing; liked watching NASCAR and the WWE. 

His family includes his father and step-mother, Joe and Janice Stackhouse; sisters, Diane Sanders (Tim) and Susan Koberle (Dustin); nieces and nephews, Kayla and Logan Rechkemmer and Addison and Wyatt Sanders.  Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
