Obituary of James Robert Oaks

James Robert Oaks, age 75 of Eldora, died Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born February 6, 1951, in New York, where he attended schools graduating from high school and then college there.  He married Kimberly Ann Root and they made their home in Oaks Corner, New York until moving to Eldora, Iowa a number of years ago.  James spent his lifetime working on cars and was able to share his love and skills teaching auto mechanics class in high school for many years.  His love for cars included racing, which meant NASCAR was just in his blood!

His family includes his wife, Kimberly; their daughter, Rachel Oaks; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother, Tom Oaks (Kathy), and sisters, Kathy Fisher (Glenn) and Susan Oaks (Dennis Hess).
