Condolences
Dorothy, this is Carolyn Stutsman Holliday. So many great memories with you and Howard. I am sad to hear of your son’s death. He was one of your children I did not meet. It sounds like he was a light and joy to all who knew him. Be well
My sincere condolences to Glenn's family and friends. He was an incredibly kind and hard working man who made a positive impact on those who crossed his path.
To the Jensen family and friends-I am truly sorry for your loss!!!!! I met Glenn and Jimmy on the Coralville bus a year ago or so. They made my day every time I saw them when they were going to the library. They were their own comedy act. Lots of times I would run into Glenn when he got off work and he would tell me about what he bought to eat for supper or simply be eating or drinking on the bus. Glenn knew no enemies. I'm still shocked, saddened and in disbelief that I'll never see Glenn with Jimmy again. I know God WILL take really good care of Glenn. As hard as it is to say goodbye to a loved one, memories are all (along with pictures of course) that are left, some having lot more than others. God bless!!!!!
The staff at the Iowa City Public Library were shocked and saddened to hear of Glenn's passing. He was a beloved regular and we so appreciated his bright spirit and kind nature. We are so sorry for your loss. Please know he will be greatly missed by all at the library.
Glenn was such a creative, loving, thoughtful and of course stubborn, human. It was the pleasure of my life getting to know him and be part of his life for many years. He loved his Lucky dog, talking about growing up on the farm and moments of independence getting ready for walking to work or just riding the bus to the library.
He loved his family and his many nieces and nephews, and especially getting to attend family events where dancing was involved. He was so proud of the garter he caught at a wedding and proudly displayed it in his room. I had the opportunity of getting to know some of his family and was able to attend a few birthdays at his moms where he always looked forward to chili, angel food cake and of course a Diet Pepsi.
Glenn loved to poke fun at me, wiping away fake tears, tickling my feet or chin and of course was fiercely loyal. Glenn loved to give people a hard time but also fiercely defended them if someone besides him was the one giving a person a hard time. He was a kind friend who liked doing his favorite activities with his buddies, coloring, watching movies and laughing.
I hope Glenn is reunited with his Lucky dog, many will miss him.
The loss of a loved one at any age is difficult, but the memories they leave behind are with us always. It looks like Glen did just that, left many wonderful memories with everyone he had contact with. May you all find peace in knowing he loved and was loved during his time here and you will all meet again.
May his joyful memories sustain you during this time.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Laurie Tamulonis
Sending our condolences. Glenn was always fun to be around and that smile was always bright. Thinking of you all/
Take care.
To the Jensen family,
I am so sorry to hear of Glenn's sudden passing. I remember him well from church and from school activities. And at family reunions over the years.
I am sad that have not crossed paths with him over the past several years. Glenn was always a friendly and outgoing person from day 1.
Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. May God keep him close and cherish him with his loving arms.
Sincerely,
Kathy Klein Gerling
