Obituary of Albert Klitzka

Albert L. Klitzka, age 69 of Iowa City died December 18, 2025, at his home in Iowa City some two months after his wife died in October.

Albert L Klitzka was born January 13, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Robert and Delores (Cornelius) Klitzka.  Following high school Albert joined the United States Marines, where he made his lifetime career, retiring as Staff Sargent.  He married Jane Ann Putnam on June 14, 1974 at Cherry Point, NC.  His military service took he and his family to various bases in the United States including Hawaii, Tennessee, and California.  He and his family settled back in Iowa City in 1985 from where Jane was born and raised.  Where they stayed until their deaths, holding true to never moving again after they returned.

His family includes their two sons, Mike Klitzka (Charlie Jo) and Adam Klitzka (Ryan); grandchildren Shelby, Dylan, Karissa, and Amber;  brother, Robert James Klitzka (Judy); sister, Marion Klitzka; half sisters, Cheryl and Sue; half-brother, Randy Klitzka; his sister-in-law, Mary Lewis (Mike); brother-in-law, Tom Putnam; cousins Alma Ann Greene; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
