Eddy was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where he spent his early years and completed his secondary education, specializing in Information Technology. Following his studies, he began his professional career working with humanitarian and development organizations in Eastern Congo, including the Lutheran World Relief (LWF) and the Équipe d'Urgence de la Biodiversité (EUB). Through this work, he demonstrated a deep commitment to serving communities affected by hardship and instability.

Eddy later joined the Institut Supérieur de Développement Rural des Grands-Lacs (ISDR-GL), a higher education institution in the city of Goma, where he continued to contribute to development initiatives and community advancement.

During a period of conflict in the DRC, Eddy was displaced and lived in a refugee camp in Ethiopia where he worked as a multilingual translator before eventually resettling in the United States in 2010. He made his home in the Iowa City area, where he built a new chapter of his life grounded in faith, family, and service.

On July 30, 2016, Eddy married Sonia Mutoni, and together they established their home in Iowa. They were blessed with a son, Joshua, born on September 30, 2017, who brought him great joy and pride.

Eddy was a man of deep faith who loved God and people. He founded a prayer group in Goma, DRC, which continues to this day. His passion was to make disciples who walked with Jesus and to care for widows and orphans, reflecting his lifelong dedication to compassion and service.

While living in Iowa, Eddy worked in Direct Support with Systems Unlimited, where he continued his mission of helping others. In the last four to five years of his life, he faced significant health challenges with courage and resilience, showing signs of improvement before his passing.

Eddy passed away on April 2, 2026. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his servant’s heart, and his enduring impact on the lives of those he touched. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sonia Mutoni, his son Joshua, and a legacy of faith, service, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Eddy est né en République Démocratique du Congo (RDC), où il a passé son enfance et accompli ses études secondaires avec une spécialisation en informatique. Après ses études, il a entamé sa vie professionnelle en travaillant avec des organisations humanitaires et de développement dans l’Est du Congo, notamment le Lutheran World Relief (LWF) et l’Équipe d’Urgence de la Biodiversité (EUB). À travers ces engagements, il a démontré un profond attachement au service des communautés touchées par les difficultés et l’instabilité.

Eddy a ensuite rejoint l’Institut Supérieur de Développement Rural des Grands-Lacs (ISDR-GL), un établissement d’enseignement supérieur situé dans la ville de Goma, où il a poursuivi son engagement en faveur du développement et du progrès communautaire.

Lors d’une période de conflit en RDC, Eddy a été contraint de se déplacer et a vécu dans un camp de réfugiés en Éthiopie où il a travaillé comme interprète, avant de s’installer aux États-Unis en 2010. Il a établi son foyer dans la région d’Iowa City, où il a construit une nouvelle étape de sa vie fondée sur la foi, la famille et le service.

Le 30 juillet 2016, Eddy a épousé Sonia Mutoni, et ensemble ils ont fondé leur foyer dans l’Iowa. Ils ont été bénis par la naissance de leur fils, Joshua, le 30 septembre 2017, qui fut pour lui une source de grande joie et de fierté.

Eddy était un homme de foi profonde, qui aimait Dieu et les autres. Il a fondé un groupe de prière à Goma, en RDC, qui existe encore aujourd’hui. Sa passion était de former des disciples marchant avec Jésus et de prendre soin des veuves et des orphelins, reflétant ainsi son engagement constant envers la compassion et le service.

Alors qu’il vivait dans l’Iowa, Eddy travaillait dans le domaine du soutien direct au sein de Systems Unlimited, où il a poursuivi sa mission d’aide aux autres. Au cours des quatre à cinq dernières années de sa vie, il a fait face à d’importants problèmes de santé avec courage et résilience, semblant montrer des signes d’amélioration avant son décès.

Eddy nous a quitté le 2 avril 2026. Il restera dans les mémoires pour sa foi inébranlable, son esprit de service et l’impact durable qu’il a eu sur la vie de tous ceux qui l’ont connu.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse bien-aimée, Sonia Mutoni, son fils Joshua, ainsi qu’un héritage de foi, de service et d’amour qui continuera d’inspirer tous ceux qui l’ont connu.
