Obituary of Joshua L. Peavy

Joshua L. Peavy, age 44, of Iowa City, passed away on May 17, 2026 at his home.

Born on September 24, 1981, in Plant City, Florida, Josh was the son of Joseph and Pamela (Brannon) Peavy.  He graduated from Clear Water High School and attended culinary school.

Josh’s passion for cooking led him to the University of Iowa, where he worked as a cook.  When he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed listening to rap music, watching the Florida State Seminoles, and spending time with his family.  He was a proud father and dearly loved his kids.

His family includes his wife, Tanisha Smith; his children, Aniyah Peavy and Avery Peavy; and his father, Joseph Peavy.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela.
