Obituary of Tyler Joe Fetters

Tyler J. Fetters, 19 of North Liberty died Saturday, September 17, 2011, from injuries received in a car accident. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the West Branch United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at the West Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A memorial fund has been established in Tyler's memory. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Tyler Joe Fetters was born September 6, 1992, in Iowa City the son of Darren S. Fetters and Tari H. (Loring) Fetters. He attended Iowa City Schools, Grant Wood Elementary, South East Junior High, and graduated from City High School with the Class of 2010. During high school and following graduation Tyler worked for Pearson, and most recently has been working for Steak & Shake in Coralville. Tyler enjoyed his life, he loved driving his car, hanging with his friends, playing video games, card games, and challenging his dad and others in disc golfing. His family includes his father and step-mother, Darren and Theresa Fetters of North Liberty; step-father, Rik Hansen of Iowa City; siblings, Kyle Fetters (Nicole Chalupa) of Solon; Brianna (Nick) Pledge of North Liberty; Katherine Haddock of North Liberty; and Matthew Haddock of Wisconsin; niece, Averi; and nephew, Aiden; grandparents, William Fetters of Iowa City; Ruth Parson of North Liberty; Virginia Gruwell of Plymouth, IN; and Emy and Joe Weldon of Iowa City; great-grandmother, Mildred Blankenship of Keokuk; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tari Hansen; grandmother, Beatrice Fetters; and grandfather, Eugene Gruwell.
