Obituary of Arthur L. Vrchoticky

Arthur L. Vrchoticky, 50, of rural Tipton died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at this home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where there will be visitation starting at 4:00 p.m. Sunday and continue following the services. Arthur Lee Vrchoticky was born October 26, 1960, in Sigourney, IA the son of Robert and Rose (Johnson) Vrchoticky. He grew up in the Lone Tree area, where he attended schools and graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1979. He had worked in the construction field, at the General Mills plant in Iowa City, and prior to having to retire due to health reasons, he had worked for the University of Iowa. Arthur was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, but most dear to his heart was his family, especially his kids! His family includes his wife, Brenda L. (Boal) Vrchoticky; children, Jeff Finnegan, Eleanor, Max, Reese, and Bess Vrchoticky; grandchildren, Madison and Xzavier; father, Robert Vrchoticky; mother, Rose Vrchoticky; siblings, Robert Vrchoticky Jr., Cindy Behun (Mike), Connie Batterton (James), Pam Vrchoticky (Scott Ernst) and Ken Vrchoticky (Marlys Smith). Arthur was preceded in death by his grandparents, and an infant sister, Susan.
