She was united in marriage to Leo John Tomas on December 16, 1941, in Davenport, IA. The couple resided and raised their family in the Oxford area where for several years Minnie worked, as a cook, at Clear Creek Community Schools. She loved to bake (most known for her famous kolaches!), cook, cheer on her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids no matter what, this was just how it was to Minnie. Her family includes her six children and their spouses, Sharon Barnhardt (Graham) of Charlotte, NC; Judy Beckler (Elmer) of Oxford; Mary McAtee (Gene) of Olin, IA; Gary Tomas (Nancy) of Solon; Allen Tomas (Sandy) of Oxford; and Curtis Tomas (Waneta) of Iowa City; 17 grandchildren; John Scheetz, Joel Scheetz, Courtney Jensen, Jamie Beckler, Dana Johnson, Carol Novey, Stacey Voss, Mike McAtee, Shelley McAtee, Kathie Green, Eric Tomas, Andy Tomas, Nicholas Tomas, Jennifer Bernacki, Karrissa Tomas, Amber Tomas, Kaylynn Tomas, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
