Rusty Ray Bromwell was born January 23, 1977, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Robert and Roberta Bromwell.  Rusty received his Eagle Scout in 1994, graduated from Muscatine High School in 1995.  He served as a missionary in Resistencia, Argentina for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, becoming fluent in the Spanish language, and falling in love with the Argentine culture. Returning to this area following his mission work, he attended and graduated from Muscatine Community College.  Here he would meet the love of his life, Erin and later marry on June 23, 2001. Before their marriage he enlisted in the United States Army with basic training starting in January of 2000. Vernon, and Marion.  In 2013, Rusty left the Post Office and began working at the VA Hospital in Iowa City, where he enjoyed talking to and helping fellow Veterans.

Rusty enjoyed life to its fullest, gambling at the Riverside Casino, playing cards with his family, fishing, bicycling (especially his RAGBRAI adventures), watching movies, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, coaching his son, Carson’s basketball team, and attending and supporting Carson in all his activities.  Rusty will be remembered for his kind, friendly, and generous nature, his willingness to help others, his ability to talk to anyone about anything, and his devote patriotism.
