Obituary of Ted Frese

Ted Frese, 80 of rural Homestead died at his home Sunday, June 3, 2007. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2pm Wednesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service – Oxford Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to Safe Haven Animal Shelter of Iowa County. Online condolences may be sent for Ted’s family through the web @www.gayandciha.com. Ted was born October 26, 1926, in Oxford, Iowa the son of Edwin and Ada (Wagner) Frese. He attended country school No. 6 through the eighth grade. He has spent his life farming the family farm near Homestead and he also worked at the Amana Feed Mill in Homestead for a number of years. His family includes his soul mate of the last 25 years, Norma Streng; brother, Frank Frese of Hiawatha; sister, Luella “Lolly” Rose of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Dorothy Frese of Amana; a nephew and 2 nieces. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Martin and Ivan Frese, 2 brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law.
