Obituary of Dolores M. Cole Chevalier Miller

Dolores Cole Miller, 86 of Solon died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June, 2, 2007, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with burial at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 3 to 7pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Solon Fire Department. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @www.gayandciha.com. Dolores Marie Buline was born May 6, 1921 in Lone Tree, Iowa the daughter of William and Clara (Stych) Buline. She graduated from Lone Tree High School with the Class of 1938. She married Raymond Cole on October 28, 1942 in Lone Tree. Ray died in 1976. Dolores later married Lewis Chevalier and following his death she married John Miller in 1995. Mr. Miller died in 1997. After her marriage she and her husband, Raymond lived in West Liberty, Hills, and moved to Solon in 1958 where they farmed for many years. She was a lady that loved being the farm wife, she thoroughly loved rural living. Dolores enjoyed the birds, her flowers, gardening, traveling with her husband, and of course her dogs! Her family includes her three children and their spouses, Rita and Emmett Shannahan of Williamsburg, Patricia and Charles Landuyt of Solon, and Raymond “Bruce” and Phyllis Cole of Prairie Du Rocher, IL; step-son and his wife, Wade and Shauna Chevalier of Marion, IA; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great-grandchild.
