Timothy "Tim" Barnes
1965 - 2014
Condolences
I learned about Tim's passing while visiting FB of another friend who recently passed away. Tim was such a positive person. He was so full of energy. I met him when he worked at Short's Travel. He, among others, were the light of a dark evening many years ago. I had made arrangements to see him, and others, in the play The Full Monty. We had a family crisis occur and I almost wasn't able to go. My husband talked me into going. I'm glad I did because it was just what I needed. A night of enjoyment amongst friends.
I'm sorry that I lost track of Tim...had I only known he was on FB. I did hear of his marriage and was happy for him.
RIP Tim.
Before City Circle, Tim enjoyed the ICCT. Tim, my daughter and I were in The Wizard of OZ. Tim was the Lion. What a terrific Lion and what an endearing friend. Tim was looked up to by every munchkin and dancer in the cast. Of course, there were others that looked up to him, also. He even invited the kids and the chauffeur mom (me) to sled on the family farm when the snow flew. It was the bumpiest sled ride I ever experienced. Tim was such an all around truly fine person and his singing and stage talent surpassed that. I have a great picture of Tim with the dancers. Some day I'll be able to share it. He lived a good life enjoying the things that were important to him.
Love ya, Tim!!
I was in Theta Xi fraternity with Tim at the University of Iowa. Tim was a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. Prayers go out to his family.
I was saddened to read of Tim's passing.
He was a warm and caring person and I always enjoyed seeing him at the Coop. He was also my favorite travel agent. He was calm when things weren't going right and compassionate when making arrangements to visit aging parents.
I am so sorry for your loss. Tim was so much fun to have in class. When I would see him the hug was warm and genuine. Nothing bothers me more than when someone so young passes away. May God be with you and know that I take pride in having had him as a student.
Bruce and Barnes family. I am so sorry about your loss. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
It feels like it was just yesterday that I was jumping up at a video camera that you were holding and yelling at you to "stick that back in there" as you stuck your tongue out at me from the other side of the camera. I can never remember a time that we were together that you did not bring an instant smile to my face. I miss you dearly my uncle and will cherish all the time we shared in your all too short life. I will be sure to tell my girls everyday what an amazing guarding angel they have watching over them now. They will know that their Guncle Tim loved them even during his final days here on earth. Be sure to give Grandma hugs and kisses for us. Things are just not the same without you here but we realize that God has a greater plan for you and we will just have to wait and find out what that was when we see you again on the other side. Until then I will hold you in my heart. Love you always and forever Uncle Tim
I am so sorry for your loss. Tim was a warm and wonderful friend and I have thought of him often. I met Tim while playing high school softball with Linda. My prayers go out to you all.
I went to high school with Tim. He was such a nice and very funny guy. We were both in theater. This is sad news. Maybe God comfort you while you grieve.
