Obituary of Juanita V. Fox

Juanita V. Fox, 91 formerly of 321 S. Dodge Street, Iowa City died Friday, February 1, 2008, at Hills Atrium Village following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2008, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Juanita Velda Preston was born November 15, 1916, in Golden City, MO, the daughter of Otto Preston and Pearl McKay Preston. She moved to the Iowa City area in 1950, and for many years she worked in food service for the University of Iowa at the Quadrangle; and also at the Hamburg Inn #1 in Iowa City. Juanita enjoyed working, cooking for students, facility, and customers. But she also enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends, and they would be the first to say she was the best cook around. Her family includes her son, Dale Fox of North Liberty; grandchildren, Jeff Fox and Doug Fox both of Williamsburg, Trudy Rumley of Leon, IA, Crystal Stallman of Urbana, IA, Melissa Fox of Leon, IA, Alisha Morton of Pine Bluff, AR; daughter-in-law, Betty Fox of Leon, IA, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Donald Fox, 1 grandson, 2 great-grandchildren, and 1 brother. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Juanita’s family and her services.
