Obituary of Clara J. Smith

Clara J. Smith, 64 of 913 Springridge Drive, Iowa City died Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at her home. No formal services will be held. Clara June Smith was born June 11, 1943, in Iowa City, the daughter of Amos and Matilda (Troyer) Coblentz. She married Richard Smith on June 4, 1977. She had lived in California prior to moving back to Iowa City in 2004. Her family includes her daughters; Debra Holmes of Vista, California, Sherry Silva and her husband, Paul, and Teresa Ayer and her husband, Neil all of Iowa City; sons, John Shimon, Jr. of Ft. Madison, Iowa and James Buccelli and his wife, Megan of Los Angeles, California; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Poggenpohl of Broomfield, Colorado, Sovilla Mae Shimon and Sharon Dewey both of Iowa City; and brother, Ed Coblentz and his wife, Debbie of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Robert Coblentz.
