Obituary of Geraldine Hans

Geraldine “Gerri” Hans, 88 of Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville died Monday, May 12, 2008, at the care center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2008, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with Jerry W. Evans officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. No visitation is planned and online condolences may be sent for Gerri’s family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Geraldine David Hans was born February 11, 1920, at Cape Girardeau, MO, the daughter of Herbert and Nina (Harper) David. She was married to Arthur Hans until his death in 1996. The couple and their family lived in the St. Louis, MO area for many years, she moved to this area following the death of her husband. Her family includes a son, David Hans and his wife, Bobbie of Swisher; two grandchildren, Sherri Diamond and her husband, Steven of Virginia Beach, VA, and Scott Hans and his wife, Tammi of Fenton, MO; two step-grandsons, Jerry W. Evans Jr. and his wife, Pam of Waterloo, and Jeff W. Evans and his wife, Becky of Coralville; eight great-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren.
