Obituary of Tari Helen Hansen

Tari Helen Hansen, 34 of 48 Coneflower Court, Iowa City died a sudden death on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at the West Branch United Methodist Church, with burial at the West Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm Monday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the care of her two sons Kyle and Tyler. After high school, she attended LaJames International College in Iowa City, receiving her Cosmetology License. She owned and operated Totally Spoiled Salon Spa in Iowa City. Tari and Darren Fetters had two boys, Kyle and Tyler. On July 11, 1998, Tari and her boys were united with Rik and Briana Hansen. She loved her salon, the outdoors, especially her garden, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and many friends. Her family includes her two sons, Kyle Fetters and Tyler Fetters both at home in Iowa City; step-daughter, Briana Hansen of Iowa City; mother, Ginny Gruwell of Plymouth, IN; grandmother, Mildred Blankenship of Keokuk; brothers, Chris Loring (Tina) of Keokuk; S/Sgt. Larry Loring (Emily); sisters, Jody Forman (Byron Tinkey) of North Liberty; Toni Lehman of Plymouth, IN; step-brothers, Eric Coulter of Davenport; Dean Gruwell of Oklahoma City, OK; step-sisters, Lori Gruwell of Des Moines; Kelly Dooley (Tom) of Johnston; special friend, Mike Rickert of Iowa City; beloved friend, Cheryl Edwards of West Branch; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Gruwell; nephew, Dustin Paul Loring; and Tari’s grandparents. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for her services and her family.
