Obituary of Linda Marie Freese

Linda Marie Freese 61, of Iowa City died Sunday, December 21, 2008 suddenly at her home. A time of sharing will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A gathering of family and friends will be after 1 p.m. until time of sharing. Freese was born March 8, 1947 in Corydon, IA to Lewis and Doris (Sandburg) Sears. She graduated in 1966 from Woodward-Grainger High School in Woodward, IA and later attended the University of Iowa. Linda was a homemaker working to raise her children. She enjoyed crocheting, listing to music, and she was very social, but most of all Linda enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family includes mother Doris Sears of Woodward, IA; three sons Daniel Freese of Phoenix, AZ, Toby and wife Angela Freese of Ainsworth, IA, Brian Curry and partner Paul Brody of Iowa City; granddaughter Nicole Copeland of Cedar Rapids; four brothers Jim and wife Linda Ann Sears of Danville, IL, John Sears of Knoxville, IA, Steve and wife Margaret Sears of Des Moines, Bo Sears of Woodward, IA; sister Sarona and husband Tim Gilchrist of Milton, IA., and many nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Florian Sandburg, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Sears, and her father Lewis Sears.
