Obituary of Dorothy R. McArtor

Dorothy R. McArtor, 89, of Bettendorf, formally of Iowa City died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf, IA. A funeral service will beheld 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to Trinity Hospice. Frauenholz was born October, 1 1919 in rural Johnson County, Iowa to Frank “Timmy” and Lydia (Mincer) Frauenholz. On August 24, 1938 she married Harold McArtor. Together they lived in Iowa City, where Dorothy worked for the University of Iowa at Burge Hall and later at the Dental Clinic. Dorothy enjoyed family; she took a lot of time to keep in touch, and most of all she loved all of her grandchildren and the wonderful time they would spend together. Her family includes daughter Marilyn (Tom) Easton of Bettendorf, IA; granddaughters Cindy (Jim) Rohde of Olds, IA, Wendy Easton of Bettendorf, IA; great-grandchildren Jimmy (Jennifer) Rohde, Jason(Natasha)Rohde, Jacob (Jessica) Rohde, Kendra and Jules Pianca, Julia, Robert, Angela Easton; great-great grandchildren Ashley and Anna Rohde; brother Frank Frauenholz and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, brother Earl Frauenholz, sisters Mary, and Agnes Frauenholz, Irene (John) Thomas, Velma (Charley) Cox, and granddaughter Julie Easton.
