Obituary of Beverly Witt

Beverly Witt, 65, of North Liberty died Friday, April 3, 2009 at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in North Liberty with the Reverend Alicia Williams officiating. Beverly was born April 26, 1943 in Ackley, Iowa to Henry G. and Lucile (Roegner) Abbas. She attended Ackley High School, and in 1960 she was married to Bill Witt. For years Beverly helped Bill manage Witt Clothing their family clothing store in Ackley, along with being a home maker. After moving to Marshalltown, IA Beverly moved with her family to North Liberty in 1998. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and Whippoorwills Club. Beverly was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was an outstanding golfer winning many tournaments; she has even had a hole in one. Her family includes husband Bill of North Liberty; son Todd (Elizabeth) Fayetteville, AR; daughter Jane Bloomquist of Conrad, IA; grandchildren Ashton and Marshall Witt, Nathan and Joshua Bloomquist; brother Duane Abbas; sisters Donna Siedschlag, twin sister Barbra Johns, and Linda Launderville. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, and her in-laws Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Witt. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Beverly family and her service.
