Obituary of William Fogwell

William "Bill" Fogwell, 86 of Williamsburg was promoted to Heaven, Thursday, September 18, 2014, after coping with metastatic prostate cancer for several years. Bill was born May 9, 1928, in Kennedyville, MD. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He moved to Iowa in the winter of 1954. He married Belva Pugh on January 1, 1957, in Newton, Iowa. They enjoyed over 57 good years. They have been blessed with two children, daughter, Jeanie and son, John. Bill worked as an assembly machinist for Kwik-Way Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids/Marion for over 32 years before retiring. He enjoyed living in rural areas, going to antique gas engine shows, and traveling, especially their 34-day driving trip to Alaska in 2002. His enjoyment was taking LOTS of pictures where ever he was. Those left to cherish Bill's memory are his wife, Belva; daughter, Jeanie of Colorado; son John (Ruby) of Iowa; 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Bill was always a giving person. His giving continues by his gift to the Department of Anatomy at the University of Iowa. A celebration of Bill's life will be announced at some future date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory and these can be sent to his family or the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Bill's family and his arrangements.
