Obituary of Rose M. Schultz

Rose Marie Schultz, 84 of Iowa City, Iowa died Tuesday, July 7, 2009. She and her husband, Howard were former residents of Toledo. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at a later date in Sylvania, Ohio. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Rose’s memory to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Rose Marie Maxfield was born March 2, 1925, in Toledo, OH the daughter of John E. and Rose (Harms) Maxfield. She married Howard E. Schultz on September 15, 1945, in Toledo. The couple and family moved to Iowa City in 1958, when Howard transferred within the company of Owens Brush to the Iowa City branch. Here in Iowa City, Rose began working for Economy Advertising, where she would work for over twenty years retiring in 1985. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and supported her husband in many endeavors especially his love of antique cars! Her family includes her children, Kenneth H. Schultz of Coralville; Patricia S. and Charles Finlay of Strongsville, OH; two grandchildren, Sara Dolin and her husband, Dan, and James Finlay. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard, and brothers and sisters, John, George, Ruth, and Catherine.
