Obituary of Pearl Marie Paintin

Pearl M. Paintin, 81 of Coralville died Monday, July 6, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2009, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Friday until services at the funeral home. Family graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Pearl Marie Butterbaugh was born February 26, 1928, in Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Luther and Willimena Susan (Hux) Butterbaugh. She was united in marriage to James Paintin on July 3, 1965, in Iowa City. She cared for her husband and children; she also worked for the University of Iowa and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in housekeeping for many years. She had been a member of the former Bethany Baptist Church; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing with her husband, and being a grandmother! Her family includes three daughters, Linda Williams (Wayne) of Coralville; Bernice Westfall (Ken) of Iowa City, and Marie Bringman (Tim) of North English; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Bernice Kinner of Davenport; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 10 brothers and sisters.
