Following graduation from technical college he enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. Returning from service he eventually settled in St. Paul where he worked for Sewall Gear Manufacturing Company as Vice President of Sales. Glenn lived a full life outside of work and after his retirement. He had a great sense of humor and an ample supply of jokes, always delivered at the perfect moment. He loved animals, sports, poetry, crossword puzzles, and bridge. In his fifties he took up downhill skiing and bowled well into his seventies. He moved to Coralville to be with family in 2001. He is survived by two sons, Michael Garry of St. Paul, and Stuart (Janice Marie) Garry of Coralville; and his grandson, Jie Edwards. Glenn was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Garry; his former wife, Anne Garry (Lichtenberger); and his four siblings: Ellen Schapiro, Rita Hedquist, Rosemary Franko, and John Garry. A memorial fund has been established in Glenns memory in care of Stuart Garry, 1504 Olde Hickory Lane, Coralville, IA 52241.
