Obituary of Scott A. Evans

Scott A. Evans, 50 of Iowa City died Saturday, September 5, 2009, at his residence following a short illness. A gathering time for family and friends to share Scott’s life will be held from 4 to 8pm Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. Scott Allen Evans was born October 3, 1958, in Iowa City the son of Stanley “Sonny” and Shirley (Blaha) Evans. For over twenty years Scott has worked for Goodwill Industries of Eastern Iowa. For the past ten years he has been with the Reach for Your Potential organization here in Iowa City. Scott enjoyed life, drinking his Pepsi, writing endlessly, taking drives to the country, listening and showing others how to dance to Elvis, and being with his family and friends! His family includes two brothers and their wives, Stanley “Jody” Evans (Cathy) of Tipton, Sheldon Evans (Dianna) of North Liberty; step-brothers and sisters, Doug Evans (Mary) of Iowa City, Candy Hawkins (Gene) of Marengo, Chad Evans of Windham, Tracy Evans (Lori) of Windham, Blaine Evans of Windham, Bart Evans (Karen) of Windham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Dean Evans, infant brother, Sharm Evans, step-sister, Becky Evans, step-brothers, Marc and Neal Evans.
