He attended Iowa City Schools and the Iowa Mennonite School. At the early age of 10 or 11 Bud was working at the family business, Brenneman Seed Store. This became his second home, and their customers were like family to him. Throughout the years in the store, the business grew, they added the pet center, sold and serviced lawn mowers and so on, but through it all, Bud's philosophy in life was to take care of the customer, no matter what it took! Bud had many interests, enjoyed many types of sports. He golfed, played slow pitch softball, bowled in leagues for years, loved to watch the Indy races, and had attended the Rose Bowl following his beloved Iowa Hawkeye's. He was an avid baseball fan of the Chicago White Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals! He was also one of the proudest fathers, grandfather and even great-grandfather. His family was everything to him. His family includes his three sons, Gary (Rita) Yoder of Riverside, Randy (Colleen) Yoder of Iowa City, and Larry Yoder of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Adrian, Sheena Yoder, Kelsey Yoder (A.J. Swailes), Derek Yoder, Shelby Yoder, Hannah Yoder, Ashleigh Yoder (Michael Tierney), Kasey Yoder, and Hallie Yoder; great-grandchildren, Ryan Adrian, and Christopher Swailes; sister, Doris M. Yoder of Iowa City; a brother, Kenneth Yoder (Candace Moore) of Coralville and Bud's former wife, Lila (Schrock) Gould.
