Obituary of Josie M. Jackson
Josie Mae Jackson, 52 of Iowa City, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. A memorial fund has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be sent for her through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Ms. Josie M. Jackson, daughter Minnie Wigfall-Taylor and the late Eulie Wigfall was born August 22, 1956. She was educated in the Alton public school system and graduated from Alton High. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and became of member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Alton. Josie moved to Iowa City, Iowa in 1982 where she raised her family. Josie was a lover of life and people. She extended her friendship to everyone she came in contact. She will be sadly missed. In addition to her mother, Josie is survived by two daughters, Tara (Kenny) Washpun and Tiffany Wigfall, both of Iowa City; seven grandchildren, Isaiah, Xavier, Marque, Khyana, Del-Ton, Elianah, and MaKaiya; brothers, Eulie Wigfall of San Francisco, CA and David (Lynda) Wigfall of Alton; sisters, Doris Terry-Cox of Ferguson, MO and Cynthia (Stanley) Davis of Alton, IL; life partner, Jeff Baker; special friends, Margaret Hutchinson and Christina Searles; uncles, Dave (Mary) Terry Jr. of Cape Girardeau, MO and Carlton Wigfall of West Virginia; aunts, Genevieve (Clarence) Dockery and Betty Frierson, both of Cape Girardeau, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by Eulie Wigfall and grandmother, Carrie Mossett. The family of Ms Josie Jackson would like to take this opportunity to express our greatest appreciation of your love, prayers, visits, and support you have shown us during this time.
