Obituary of Timothy J. Westen

Timothy J. Westen, 46 of Coralville, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at River Community Church in Iowa City. Burial will be in Washington, Iowa at the city cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tim’s memory. Timothy Joseph Westen was born October 5, 1963, in Iowa City the son of Wilbur E. and Patricia A. (Nelson) Westen. He graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1983. He had been employed by Dominos Pizza and Midwest Janitorial. Tim lived for all holiday’s, enjoyed collecting anything to do with M&M’s, and in his youth was involved in Cub Scouts. His family includes his mother, Patricia Edwards of Coralville; brothers, Jerry Westen (Korie) of Solon, and Daniel Westen (Susan) of Iowa City; nephews and nieces, Matthew Westen, Michael Westen, Derek (Amanda)Westen, and Travis Westen (fiancé Jessica) and Amanda Ramirez (Ruben); great-nieces and nephews, Kaleb, Faith, Rosalina, Ruby, Drake, Elijah, and Daniel; 5 aunts and 1 uncle. Tim was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Roy and Irene Nelson, and George and Georgia Westen; 3 uncles and 2 aunts.
